FOREIGN MISSION SERVICES. - The annual foreign missionary services were conducted in the Wesleyan Church on Sunday week, when the pulpit was occupied morning and evening by the Rev. T. D. BARNES, of Taunton, who preached appropriate sermons to attentive congregations, and in the afternoon gave an address to the scholars of the Sunday School and friends. Collections were made in aid of the Foreign Missionary Society. The annual meeting was held on Thursday, when the annual report was read, and an address on missionary work in Egypt, and the customs and manners of the people was given by the Rev. A. B. DUNCALFE. Other friends also addressed the meeting.

DEATH OF A NONAGENARIAN. - The death took place at Sedgmoor, North Curry, on Sunday week, of Mrs. BELLRINGER, widow of the late Mr. William BELLRINGER, in her 95th year. Born at North Curry on December 17th, 1819, in the same year as Queen Victoria, Mrs. BELLRINGER, whose maiden name was HILL, spent practically all her life in her native village, where she was well known and highly respected. Up to the last she retained all her faculties, and until a few weeks ago read the newspapers without the use of spectacles. One of her favourite remarks was, “I shall never rust out, but wear out.” and so it appears. In 1839 she married, and helped her husband in his trade as bootmaker. Her stories of the old coaching days were full of interest, and she often re-called the times when she saw coal barges come up to Newport – which formerly had the privilege of a corporate town – near North Curry, on a tributary of the River Parrett. For over 50 years she lived at Greenway House, and was extremely fond of outdoor life, gardening, &c. For some time afterwards she was living at Puriton with her daughter, Mrs. N. C. LEE, but expressed the wish to return to North Curry so that she might die in the village which had become so dear to her. Here she lived with her eldest daughter, Mrs. S. GRIDLEY, who is 71 years of age, and passed peacefully away as stated above. The other surviving daughter is Mrs. J. LANE, of Puritan Post-office. The deceased lady had six sons and five daughters, of whom three daughters mentioned are living. In addition to this large family she cared for four orphans and two grand-children. Her descendants number about 100. The funeral took place at North Curry on Thursday afternoon. This is the second nonagenarian who has passed away within the last month in the parish, and testifies to the healthiness of the climate of North Curry.
