STOKE ST. GREGORY.
WEDDING. - A wide circle of friends were interested in a wedding which took place on Tuesday in the Baptist Chapel between Miss Hilda May BATTEN, fifth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. BATTEN, of Meare Green, and Mr. Walter WATSON, second son of Mr. and Mrs. WATSON, of Swindon. The Rev. E. C. KER officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in a dress of putty silk crepe with hat to match. The duties of “best man” were carried out by Mr. David WATSON, brother of the bridegroom. The organist played the “Wedding March” and other suitable music as the bride was entering and leaving the church. Many guests assembled at the bride's home for the wedding breakfast, and later Mr. and Mrs. WATSON left by train en route for Rotherham (Yorks), their future home. The presents were numerous and handsome. The bride travelled in a tailored costume of Wedgwood blue.
