DEATH AND FUNERAL OF MR. McHARDY. - The death occurred on Tuesday, July 29th, of Mr. Percy James McHARDY, a native of Taunton, at his home, at 30, Alma-street, where he was in business as an outfitter and French polisher, the latter trade being carried on until the Friday night before his death. Deceased, who was 37 years of age, leaves a widow and seven children, of whom four are boys and three girls, to mourn their loss, as well as a mother and a step-father. The eldest of the children, a boy, is 13 years, whilst the youngest, also a boy, is two months. The funeral took place on Saturday at St. Mary's Cemetery, where the Rev. R. Lowman LANG (vicar of Holy Trinity) officiated both in the church and at the graveside. The chief mourners were Mrs. McHARDY (widow), Mr. and Mrs. E. OATEN (step-father and mother), Mr. and Mrs. H. SMITH (uncle and aunt), Mr. and Mrs. HAYMAN (father and mother-in-law), Messrs. L., C., and H. HAYMAN (brothers-in-law), Miss I. HAYMAN (sister-in-law), and Mrs. H. HAYMAN (aunt). There were also present at the graveside Nurse WATLING and a number of friends to pay their last respects. Of the bearers four were representatives of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, the deceased having been a member of the “Engineers'” Lodge. The R.A.O.B. members were Messrs. GIBBS, KNIGHT, VICKERY, and ADLAM. The coffin was of unpolished elm, with brass fittings, and bore the inscription:- “Percy James McHARDY, died 29th July, 1924, aged 37 years.” - Mrs. McHARDY and family wish to return thanks to all kind friends and neighbours who have shown extreme sympathy in their sad bereavement. - Mr. E. E. WHITE, undertaker, of East Reach, was entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
