SHEPTON BEAUCHAMP.
A WHIST DRIVE AND DANCE was held at the School-room on Tuesday evening to raise funds for the proposed Parish Hall for the village. Arrangements were in the hands of a Committee consisting of Messrs. J. H. ENGLAND, T. CORNELIUS, G. GIFFORD ENGLAND, J. GUMMER, W. HAZELWOOD, W. BEALEY, R. ROWSELL, C. ROWSWELL, C. VAUX, H. WELCH, and W. BEALEY, and Mesdames BEALEY, J. H. ENGLAND, J. HAWKINS, and E. HAWKINS, and the Misses R. ROWSELL, G. ROWSWELL, and E. SOUDON. Mr. G. GIFFORD ENGLAND was M.C. for the whist drive, and Mr. C. VAUX for the the dance. The Barrington Dance Orchestra played. The whist prize-winners were:- Ladies – 1, Miss Freda HAWKINS; 2, Mrs. COPP; 3. Miss C. HAWKINS. Gentlemen – 1, Mr. Fred ENGLAND; 2, Miss Dorothy ENGLAND (playing as gentleman); 3, Mr. HARRISON.
