DEATH OF MRS. ELIZABETH BICKNELL. - The death occurred at the Taunton and Somerset Hospital on Monday morning of Mrs. Elizabeth BICKNELL, wife of Mr. Hubert John BICKNELL, of High-street. Deceased, who was aged 68, had been in ill-health for many years, and had never really recovered from an operation performed five years ago. A native of Taunton, she was well known in the town, and will be missed by her many friends. Mrs. BICKNELL was a member of St. James' Church, where she was married 48 years ago by the Rev. REDFERN. She leaves a family of three sons and six daughters, forty grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. - The interment took place on Thursday afternoon at Staplegrove Cemetery, the Rector (Rev. Dr. HARRIS) officiating. The family mourners were:- Mr. H. J. BICKNELL (husband); Mr. and Mrs. H. BICKNELL, Mr. and Mrs. Jack BICKNELL, and Mr. and Mrs. William BICKNELL (sons and daughters-in-law); Mr. and Mrs. J. MANUAL, Mr. and Mrs. I. GASS, and Mr. and Mrs. F. CROCKER (sons-in-law and daughters); Mr. J. BICKNELL, Mrs. C. LOCK, Miss R. BICKNELL, and Miss V. BICKNELL (grandchildren); Mr. and Mrs. PERKINS and Mrs. D. SMITH, Barry (friends). The coffin was of unpolished oak with brass fittings and bore the inscription:- “Elizabeth Bicknell, died May 5th, 1930, aged 68 years.” Many beautiful floral tributes were sent as follows:- In loving memory of my dear wife, from her loving husband John; from each of the following couples, with the inscription, “In loving memory of dear Mother” - Maud and Harry, Rose and Bill, Jack and Mabel, Bill and Lil, Beat. and Jim, Ivy and Jim, and Daisy and Fred; Mr. and Mrs. PERKINS and family; sprays from Vera, Leslie, Dorothy, and Winnie (grandchildren); Mr. and Mrs. E. HAM and family; Mr. and Mrs. PAUL; Mr. C. BOOBYER and family; Mrs. HACKETT; Mr. and Mrs. BLACKMORE; and other numerouse wreaths. - Mr. BICKNELL and family wish to express sincere thanks to the senders of floral tributes and expressions of sympathy in their bereavement.
