MRS. LILY THOMAS.
DEATH AT WEST MONKTON.
WELL-KNOWN LOCAL RESIDENT.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives of Mrs. Lily THOMAS, of Sidbrook Farm, West Monkton, who died in the Taunton and Somerset Hospital on Friday, at the age of 59 years. Mrs. THOMAS had been severely ill for the last fortnight. She was well known in the district, and leaves a husband, two daughters, and one son.
THE FUNERAL.
The funeral took place at West Monkton on Tuesday. A service, held in the church, was conducted by the Rev. C. A. HUTCHINGSON, rector of West Monkton, and the Rev. A. EREAUT, of Bathpool.
Mr. J. OWEN was at the organ, and the choir was in attendance. The deceased's favourite hymn, “Abide with me,” was sung.
Chief mourners were:- Mr. J. THOMAS (husband), Mr. E. THOMAS (son), the Misses D. and A. THOMAS (daughters), Mr. FOURACRE (brother), Mrs. WILSON (sister), Messrs. W. H. and A. THOMAS (brothers-in-law), Mr. R. HASLEM (brother-in-law), Mrs. TURNER and Miss B. THOMAS (nieces), and Mr. HECTOR (friend).
The coffin was of polished elm with brass fittings, and bore the inscription: “Lily Thomas. Died September 30th, 1932. Aged 59 years.”
The bearers were Messrs. D. LEACH, V. GLANVILLE, E. PARKER, and E. NATHAN.
