DEATH OF WELL-KNOWN CHURCH WORKER.

THE LATE MRS. EDITH BRUFORD.

LOSS TO ST. MARY'S CHURCH.

The death occurred on Tuesday morning of Mrs. Edith BRUFORD, of 150, East Reach. Mrs. BRUFORD was the wife of Mr. Richard BRUFORD, a well-known Tauntonian and chorister, who has served for about 40 years in St. Mary's choir.

They were married at Taunton, and lived for some time at their address with Mrs. BRUFORD's parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward MULFORD. They then went to live at Rowbarton for seven years, but later returned to East Reach, where they have been in residence for the past 40 years.

Mrs. BRUFORD has always taken a deep, and until illness prevented it, active part in the work of St. Mary's Church. She was in the Sunday School class of the late Rev. CLARKE, when vicar of St. Mary's, and later became a Sunday School teacher. She was also, until recently, an active and interested member of the Sewing Guild, in which she was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends.

The Taunton Hospital, to which she was a regular visitor, claimed a great deal of her attention, and many local charities will experience a great loss.

Mrs. BRUFORD was a close friend of Archdeacon W. H. ASKWITH, when vicar of St. Mary's.

She leaves a husband, two sons, and two daughters, with whom sympathy has been expressed.

The funeral takes place at St. Mary's Cemetery on Monday, following a service at St. Mary's Church at 2.30 p.m.
