DEATH OF MRS. E. PRING.

TRAGEDY OF INFLUENZA.

HUSBAND TOO ILL TO ATTEND FUNERAL.

The death occurred in very sad circumstances on Saturday of Mrs. Elizabeth PRING, 9, Roughmoor Cottages, and quite a gloom has been cast over the neighbourhood and Ebenezer Methodist Church, of which she was a member. Only 29 years of age, she was a victim of pneumonia, following influenza, and her husband, Mr. John PRING, a traveller and salesman for Messrs. KINGSBURY, the St. James'-street corn and seed merchants, was too ill to attend the funeral on Thursday afternoon. He had also contracted pneumonia following 'flu. There is one child, a little girl of seven years of age. At Ebenezer Mrs. PRING was connected with the Bible Class, Young People's Guild and Sunday School, and a bright and jovial nature won many friends for her. The funeral service at the church was conducted by the Rev. H. K. SHERRIFF, who referred to her bright and pleasant disposition. She was full of vitality and was always the “life” of all functions and church efforts to which she gave her services; she was well loved by a large circle of friends.

Deceased's father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. WESTCOTT, reside at George's-street, Cheddon-road; Mr. PRING's mother has resided with her son and daughter-in-law for some time.

THE MOURNERS.

There were a number of friends and church members at the funeral service, among those attending being Mr. S. SWEET, Mr. and Mrs. F. B. SWEET, Mrs. COTTRELL, Mrs. G. BURSTON, Miss E. BODGER (secretary of the Sunday School), Miss D. TURNER, Mrs. A. HAYWARD, Mrs. E. SYLVESTER, Miss SYLVESTER, Miss V. COTTRELL, Miss BOSTOCK, Mrs. BROOM, Mr. W. G. PIPER, Mr. and Mrs. W. BURT, Mr. E. SYLVESTER, Mrs. S. W. COTTRELL, Mrs. ANDREW, Miss B. TALBOT, Mrs. BECK, Mrs. HOUSE and others.

The beaers <sic> were all church members, Messrs. S. HAYWARD, F. ELKINGTON, F. COOMBE, S. W. COTTRELL and S. TURNER, and the coffin, of unpolished oak, with brass fittings, bore the inscription:- “Elizabeth Pring, died January 28th, 1933, age 29 years.” The hymns “Jesu, Lover of my soul” and “Lead kindly light” were sung, and the Organist (Mr. F. B. SWEET) played the voluntary, “O Rest in the Lord” as the coffin was carried from the church. The interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery, and the family mourners were Mr. J. WESTCOTT (father), Mrs. PRING (mother-in-law), Sister Marjorie, Messrs. Harold WESTCOTT, Percy WESTCOTT and --- WESTCOTT (brothers), Messrs. H. J. WADHAM and Ernest WADHAM (uncles), Miss WESTCOTT, Wood-street, and Miss WADHAM (aunts), and Miss Violet WADHAM.

Mr. PRING and mother wish to return thanks for floral tributes and sympathy of neighbours and friends during their sad bereavement.

The funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mr. E. E. WHITE, East Reach.
