MR. W. TROTT AND MISS E. ALWAY.

A large number of villagers were present at the West Monkton Church on Monday, when a double wedding took place, at which the Rector, Rev. C. A. HUTCHINSON, officiated.

Mr. Charles James William ALWAY, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles ALWAY, of Coombe Quarry, West Monkton, was married to Miss Florence Doreen WHITTAM, youngest daughter of Mrs. WHITTAM and the late Mr. W. WHITTAM, of 48, Pole-street, Stepney Green, London, E.1. Mr. William Guy TROTT, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank TROTT, of Greenway Farm, Thurloxton, was married to Miss Ellen Violet ALWAY, sister of the first bridegroom.

Miss WHITTAM, who was given away by her brother, Mr. W. WHITTAM, wore a dress of powder-blue crepe-de-chine, with picture hat and shoes to match. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations, and was attended by her sister, Mrs. A. BARTON, and the sister of the bridegroom, Miss L. ALWAY. They wore pink floral georgette dresses, with picture hats of pink silk and crinoline straw and carried bouquets of love-in-the-mist and carnations.

The bride's mother's dress was of brown silk marocain.

Mr. W. CLEEVE, a friend, was “best man.”

Miss ALWAY, who was given away by her father, wore blue floral georgette, with blue picture hat and shoes to match, and carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations. Her attendants were her sister, Miss B. ALWAY, and a cousin of the bridegroom, Miss B. CHAFFEY. They wore dresses of pink silk with hats to match, and carried bouquets of pink carnations and sweet peas.

The bridegroom's mother wore black floral silk with hat and shoes to match.

Mrs. ALWAY wore a dress of blue floral silk.

The “best man” was Mr. P. OWENS, of Bristol, a friend of the bridegroom.

Following the ceremony, about 70 guests attended a reception at Coombe Quarry.

Among the large number of presents Mr. ALWAY received a silver butter dish from Sir William and Lady MEADE-KING and a biscuit barrel from Mr. and Mrs. MATTHEW, of Adsboro House. Miss ALWAY received a silver sugar basin from Captain and Mrs. MATHER, of Thurloxton Manor, and a bread board and knfe <sic> in a silver stand from Sir William and Lady MEADE-KING.
