Laft week was married Chas. COBB, efq; grandfon of Thos. COBB, efq; of Marlborough-buildings, to Mifs CONWAY, of the Crefcent.

Saturday was married, by his Grace the Archbifhop of York, Capt. GOSSLIN, of the royal navy, to Mifs HADFLEY, eldeft daughter of the late T. R. HADFLEY, efq; of Ware-Priory, Herts.

Monday was married Mr. Jofeph PEARFON, hofier, of this city, to Mifs Martha EDGED??, of Trowbridge.

Tuefday was married the Hon. and Rev. Edw. GREY, rector of Peafemore, Wilts, brother to Earl GREY to Mifs C. CROFTS, dau. of J. CROFTS, efq; of Greenham, near Newbury.

BIRTHS. - The lady of Wyndham GOODEN, efq; a daughter. - The lady of Thomas CREAFER, efq; of Gay-fteet, a fon. - Thurfday, the lady of Honeywood YATES, efq; a fon, at his lodgings in Bathwick-fteet.

Yefterday died, of a typhus fever, aged 57, Mr. Walter SMITH, treafurer of the Theatres-Royal, Bath and Briftol.

DIED. On Sunday the 19th inft, at his houfe in Ruffel-fteet, Mrs. ERFKINE, wife of Alex ERFKINE, efq; of Ballhall, North-Britain. - Suddenly, on the 2d? inft. at Somerfet-houfe, Mrs. Cecilia MAUGHAN, aged 69, relict of John MAUGHAN, efq. - Mr. Nat. OVERBURY, maltfter, of Tetbury; a truly honeft man. - Thurfday, Mrs. BRICKMAN, wife of Mr. BRICKMAN, of Church-fteet. - The infant dau. Of Mr. Baton GILES??, of St. Andrew in Wells. - Yefterday, at her lodgings in Weftgate- Buildings, Mifs HART.

Monday afternoon as Mr. NEWTON, of Stoke, was coming into this city in a one-horfe chaife, his horfe took fright near the turnpike on the lower Briftol road, and leaping at the gate, in a moft furprifing manner cleared it, and dragged the carriage after without overturning it or throwing out his driver, who ftopped his progrefs by over-throwing the gig againft a heap of ftones, lying at a fhort diftance in the road. - Mr. NEWTON was only flightfully? bruifed upon his arm; but the turnpike-man received a fevere contufion on his temple, and remains extremely ill.

Thurfday a man and his wife were committed to Carmathen goal, the former for robbing a poor cottager; the latter for the murder of her child.

The following accidents occurred during the laft week: - John SAY, aged 3 years, fon of Mr. James SAY, of Ubley, burnt to death. - Edward BROWN, of Fivehead, near Langport, killed by the falling of a tree. - John PLAFKET, aged 5 years, fon of James PLAFKET, who keeps the turnpike-gate at Bedminfter, on the road leading to Bath, found by his father drowned in a pool of water near the gate.
