BRIDGWATER.

<section not transcribed>

On Monday evening, between five and six o'clock Dr. STODDART, of Comeytrowe House, accompanied by Mr Vere HARE of Taunton, were returning in a phaeton from Broomfield, and on coming down Buncomb-hill, the horse took fright at some unascertained object, and after running some distance, fell with such violence as to break the carriage, with the shafts of which dangling at his heels, the animal ran into Taunton. A loaded gun was unfortunately in the carriage, which, by the concussion of the accident, exploded, and severely wounded Mr. HARE by the shot, which struck his arm, chest, and extensively lacerated his thigh. Both the travellers were taken up in a senseless state, and conveyed home in the carriage of the Rev. Mr. MALPAS, which was obligingly offered for the purpose. Dr. STODDART was but slightly injured, but Mr. HARE, though not in danger, will be long a sufferer before he recovers.
