BOARD OF GUARDIANS. - The fortnightly meeting of the Board of Guardians was held on Wednesday, the Rev. F. N. SMITH presiding. The Board again had under consideration the question of the nurses of the Nursing Association attending pauper cases. A resolution that a conference between the Board and the Association should be held was defeated. Letters were read from the three union medical officers in the town expressing the opinion that the nurses always willingly attended cases, whilst patients never made any complaints. On the motion of the vice-chairman, a resolution to the effect that the Board considered the reports satisfactory, and that they had every confidence that the association would do its duty by the Board in the future, was passed. Dr. A. E. MANNERS-SMITH, of Nether Stowey, wrote resigning his position as medical officer for such district. The resignation was received with regret. A letter was read from Mr. J. T. NICHOLETTS, the treasurer of the union, resigning his position as such. The Board received the resignation with much regret.
