WELLS FARMER'S TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE.
Mr. Walter HAYES, of Gate Lane Farm, Wells, had an alarming experience, whilst engaged in milking about 8 o'clock on Sunday morning in a shed at the rear of the Athletic ground. What appeared to be a fire ball fell with a deafening crash just outside the Shed. He later investigated the spot, but was unable to find any cavity in the ground to confirm the belief that a thunderbolt had fallen. Blinding lightning also struck two trees a few yards from the farm house, and brought down huge limbs, whilst Mr. HAYES also lost a number of chicken through drowning.
