CURRY RIVEL.
ACCIDENT. - On Wednesday, the 28th ult., a man named Charles PERRY, of Langport, labourer, was digging sand in a pit at Sand-pit Hill, in this parish. He had undermined the side of the pit, when a large portion of the earth gave way and fell over him, burying him up round his neck; but, fortunately, a lump weighing several tons weight fell beyond him, or he must have been killed on the spot. A man named Thomas HARRIS, of Curry Rivel, happened to ride by on horseback just at the time, and heard the noise made by the falling earth. On going to the spot and finding the man in the position described, he obtained the assistance of Mr. S. DEAN, and others, by whom the poor fellow was got out and conveyed home in a cart. One of his shoulders was dislocated, and he was otherwise very must bruised. He was at ended by J. PRANKERD, Esq., surgeon, of Langport, and hopes are entertained of his recovery.
