SHEPTON BEAUCHAMP.

CONTINUATION SCHOOL GARDENS. - Mr J. ETTLE, the county inspector, reports as follows:- Shepton Beauchamp has risen to second place through the general excellence of the crops, the cleanliness of the plots, and the care taken with the individual crops. The peas, potatoes and runner beans were so good that nearly all of them were awarded full points at the first inspection. At the second visit the crops were all feeling the drought.

MARRIAGE OF MISS G. ROWSELL. - The marriage took place at the parish church on Thursday of Mr Joseph WINES, of South Petherton, and Miss Georgina ROWSELL, of this village. The weather was favourable, and at twelve o'clock, the time fixed for the ceremony, the church was well filled. The rector (Rev A. LETHBRIDGE) officiated. The bridal party were met at the church doors by the clergy, and the choir, “The Voice that breathed o'er Eden” being sung with much sweetness as the possession walked up the church. The bride, who was attired in a white satin dress, was given away by Mr Wm. ROWSELL. The bridesmaids, who wore cream dresses trimmed with bue satin, and hats to match, were the two sisters of the bride. Mr Bert ROWSELL was the best man. After the ceremony the “Wedding March” was played on the organ by Mr Tom ROWSELL, organist. On leaving the bride and bridegroom were freely pelted with rice and confetti. In the afternoon a reception was held at the bride's mother's residence, where a large number of guests assembled. The presents, which were on view, were nimerous and valuable. During the evening the South Petherton Town Band played a choice selection of music, under the conductorship of Bandmaster W. C. GAYLEARD, in front of the bride's mother's residence at Shepton Beauchamp.
