FIVEHEAD.
FOOTBALL. - To-day (Thursday) Fivehead visit Taunton to play the Rovers in the Taunton and District League, and a good game is expected. Fivehead team: T. MILLER; TROUT, HUMPHREYS; SUMMERHAYES, CHEDZOY, MILLER; HULL, HALLETT, H. CHEDZOY, BICKNELL and HUDSON.
THE FUNERAL took place on Wednesday, March 26th, of a highly respected parishioner in the person of Mr Vile LENTON. The deceased died from heart failure after a short illness. Mr LENTON filled the office of clerk at the Parish Church for twenty years, and was also a member of the choir for many years. He was in business as carpenter and wheelwright. The service was conducted by the Vicar (the Rev. J. RIGBY). The coffin, which was of polished elm with brass fittings, bore the inscription:- “William Vile Lenton, aged 67 years.” After the service in the church the Dead March in “Saul” was played on the organ by Miss THOMAS. The undertaking arrangements were carried out by Mr W. BRAKE, of Curry Rivel. Many beautiful floral tributes were sent from members of the family and others.
