A severe hail-storm visited this town on Thursday morning.

MALICIOUSLY BREAKING A MAN'S ARM. - At the Taunton police-court, on Wednesday, the Rev. W. J. and Capt. ALLEN, Capt. DOVETON, and W. E. SURTEES, Esq., were engaged in investigating a charge against William OATEN and his paramour, Elizabeth WOOLLEN, for wilfully and maliciously breaking the arm of Joseph HITCHCOCK, baker, East-reach. The prisoners went to the prosecutor's house, called him out, beat him, and then the female prisoner held him by the hair of his head whilst her companion deliberately broke one of his arms. The male prisoner was committed for trial, but the female was discharged.
