FUNERAL OF MR. F. W. MATTERFACE.

The funeral of Mr. F. W. MATTERFACE, aged 92, Bridport's oldest townsman, took place at Bridport on Friday, when the services at the cemetery chapel and graveside were conducted by the Rev. Rendall JONES, Unitarian. The chief mourners were Messrs. F. MATTERFACE and H. MATTERFACE (sons), and Messrs. J. T. MALE, W. W. MALE and T. MALE (nephews).

Others attending included the Mayor (Mr. S. J. GALE), Major J. GUNDRY, MR. SUTTILL and Mrs. H. S. SUTTILL, Captain K. SUTTILL, Mr. W. H. REED, Mrs. REED, and Miss REED, Alderman A. SPILLER, Messrs. P. H. STEPHENS, F. ASHFORD, S. DEAN, president of the Scientific and Literary Institute, W. E. GALE, T. E. BEACH?, R. GALE, W. GILLHAM, W. SALISBURY, T. E. MUNDEN, H. N. COX, G. BONFIELD, A. J. FELSTONE, G. FROST, J. H. BRYANT, G. A. MEECH, W. CRABB, C. WARREN, W. C. HODDER, S. BYLES, G. A. TATTESHALL, G. WATTS, A. GALPIN, W. H. MARSH, C. D. WALBRIDGE, W. G. PERROTT, E. DANIELS, B. GALE, S. WHITE, H. COOMBS, J. MUNDEN, and W. E. BATES.

Members of the Unitarian Church, of which deceased was a lifelong member, acted as bearers. They were Messrs. E. ROBERTS, W. B. SHEPHARD, G. A. MILVERTON, and G. W. WELCH.
