To the Churchwardens and
others, the Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Curry Rivel in the County aforesaid to
convey: And to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Fivehead in the
county aforesaid to receive and
obey. These.
WHEREAS Complaint has been
made by you the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Curry Rivel aforesaid,
unto us, whose Hands and Seals are hereunto set, two of her Majesty's Justices
of the Peace, in and for the County of Somerset aforesaid, (whereof one is of
the Quorum,) that Jeremiah SUMMERHAYS
Mary his wife and John their son lately intruded themselves into your said parish of Curry Rivel there to inhabit as Parishioners contrary to the Laws relating to the
Settlement of the Poor; and are
become chargeable to your said Parish of Curry
Rivel
We therefore upon due
examination and Enquiry made into the Premises aforesaid, and on oath of the
said Jeremiah SUMMERHAYS this day
taken before us in writing or otherwise, do find and adjudge the same to be
true: And we do also adjudge that the last place of the legal settlement of them the said Jeremiah SUMMERHAYS Mary his wife and John their son was and is the
parish of Fivehead
aforesaid.
These are therefore in her
Majesty's name, to order and require you the Churchwardens and Overseers of the
poor of the Parish of Curry Rivel aforesaid, that you, some, or one of you, do
forthwith remove and convey them the
said Jeremiah SUMMERHAYS Mary his wife
and John their son from your said parish of Curry Rivel to the Parish of Fivehead
aforesaid, and them deliver to the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor or some or one of them there, together
with this our order, or a true copy thereof.
AND you the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Fivehead aforesaid, are likewise
hereby required in his Majesty's name, to receive and provide for them the said Jeremiah SUMMERHAYS Mary his wife and John their son as Inhabitants of your said Parish of Fivehead until from thence they shall be discharged by due course of law. Given under our Hands and Seals, the 28th day of March in the Second Year of the Reign of our Sovereign lord WILLIAM the Forth,
by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, King,
Defender of the Faith and in the Year of our Lord one thousand, eight hundred
and thirty two.
