Aged Leader of Women is Dead

Pioneer in Women's Club Work, Dies at Home of Daughter in Mass.

Greenville, May 4. -- Mrs. Sallie Southall Cotten, widow of the late Colonel Robert R. Cotten, of Cottendale, Pitt county, died this morning at the home of her daughter in Winchester, Mass. Death followed illness extending over a period of several weeks.

Although complete funeral arrangements had not been announced today, it was stated that the body would be brought to her late home at Cottendale and that funeral service would be conducted from St. Paul's Episcopal church in Greenville Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

Mrs. Cotten, before her marriage, was Miss Sallie Southall, of Murfreesboro.
