My first Article 15. The charges read: "It has been reported that on or about 2200 hours, 1 September, 1972, at El Paso, Texas, you did wrongfully have in your possession three (3) grams, more or less, of marihuana." I foolishly walked back across the border at Juarez, Mexico, with 3 joints in my pocket, wearing sunglasses to hide my red eyes, at 11 pm! The US Customs border guard was not impressed.
This supreme act of stupidity cost me my Security Clearance and removed me from school where I was training to be a Nike Hercules Electronic Mechanic. So, instead of training for a hi-tech occupation in electronics I was sent to be a warehouseman, doing grunt work.
