Joseph Allen MCDOWELL

Obituary: Joseph Allen McDowell, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. McDowell, was born in Marion, Kentucky, January 30th, 1877, and died in Phillipsburg, Kansas, November 30, 1918, aged 41 years and 10 months. He was united in marriage with Miss Rosa Brantley, June 5th, 1998. To them were born six children, two girls and four boys, Ethel Stephenson, of Glade; Lucy, Ray, Howard, Eugene and Wayne. He leaves three sisters and two brothers. His sisters are Mrs. Emma Mamby and Zoe, of Marion, Kentucky, and Mrs. Lee of Phillipsburg. HIs brothers are Kleve, of Marion, Ky., and Will, of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Allen was very happily converted about four weeks before his death, and loved to talk of the beautiful place that was prepared for him. He called his family around his bed and asked them to promise to meet him in Heaven, and expressed regret that he had not settled the greatest of all matters earlier. He was a great sufferer for many months. His widow and children and other friends have the love and sympathy of many friends. A brief funeral service was held at the cemetery in Phillipsburg, participated in by Dr. Meredith, pastor of the Methodist church, and by the Woodmen.

BURIAL: Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 22 1934 in the Little Church of the Flowers ath Forest Lawn Memorial park in Glendale, where interment followed, for James C. Lambertson, retired rancher, who died last Saturday at the Hollywood hospital. Rev. Isbell, Presbyterian minister of La Crescenta, officitated.
 Mr. Lambertson, 66 years of age and a native of Murray, Iowa, had been a resident of La Crescenta since 1930. Mr. Lambertson was at one time trustee and supervisor of the Murray, Iowa, public schools. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary Lambertson, Two sons E.E. and C.H. Lambertson, and two daughters Mrs. Mildred Sampson and Mrs.Gladys Kerns.
