    Stanley H. "Stan" Scroggins, age 84, of Shawnee, Kan., went to be with Jesus Friday, August 22, 2008, in Branson, Mo. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 25, at The Christ Lutheran Church, 6700 N.W. 72nd St., in Platte Woods, Mo. A luncheon will follow the service, and then the interment will take place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Kan. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kan. Stan was born on December 1, 1923, in Kansas City, Kan., to Herbert Willard and Marie J. (Scherer) Scroggins. He was a lifelong are resident, graduating from Wyandotte High School in 1941. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of WW II, serving in Burma and India. He worked with his father as an auto mechanic at 13th Street Garage, before going to work for TWA in 1952, where he worked as an Airplane Mechanic, Flight Engineer, and a Flight Engineer Instructor before retiring in 1982. Stan was a member of Save-A-Connie, The Edsel Owner's Club, TWA Seniors, and Christ Lutheran Church. These things as well as our Lord and family were the center of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 and a half years, Marie Scroggins, in 2006. Survivors include his son Larry Scroggins (Heidi); granddaughter Rachel Almstedt (Jonathan); great granddaughters Janessa and Julia Almstedt; grandson Yancy Scroggins; daughter Sandra Brant (Roger); grandchildren Jennifer Blomquist, Bill Blomquist, Tessa Brant and Travis Brant (Heidi); daughter Debra June Goedel; brother Merlyn Scroggins (Bernadine); nephews Mike Scroggins, Mark Scroggins and Leo Scroggins; niece Gloria Kerr, and countless others who will miss their beloved Stan/Grandpa! Stan requested any memorial go to the Parkinson's Foundation in honor of his grandson Jonathan Almstedt, a Parkinson's survivor, and/or the Evie Penn Care Fund at Christ Lutheran. Evie is a teenage member of Christ Lutheran who has long suffered the invasion of cancer. Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, (913) 334- 3366.
