- [S50] Lytle Funeral Chapel, Laura Ruth (Kidd) Kinnard Scroggins, 25 Jun 2013Mrs. Laura Ruth Kinnard Scroggins, age 89, formerly of Madison, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon, Indiana. Born April 6, 1924 in Jefferson County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Robert and Tressie Stearns Kidd.
Mrs. Scroggins retired from Mascatatuck State Hospital as an attendant supervisor, and was a member of the Dupont Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter: Alice Brown of North Vernon; one son: Donald Kinnard of Centerville, Ohio; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands: George Kinnard and Wallace Scroggins; one son, Cecil Kinnard; and one brother, Fred Kidd.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 27, 2013 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Bayless Cemetery, Madison.
Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday and from 10 to 11 AM Thursday at the funeral home.

Lavona Alexander
Lavona Mae Alexander, 75, of 802 Bell’s Ridge Road, Bedford, Ky., died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at her residence.
She was born April 22, 1927, in Switzerland County, the daughter of Thomas and Dora Poling Scroggins. She was a retired nurse’s assistant at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital, and a member of the Union Grove Church.
Surviving are her husband, Louis Alexander; four daughters, Linda Higgins of Lexington, Nina Jackson of Bedford, Ky., Carla Morris of Hammond and Rita Kelly of Warsaw; four sons, Danny Alexander of Hanover, Ricky Alexander of Sanders, Ky., Louis Alexander of Milton, Ky., and James Alexander of Bedford; one sister, Rosalie Deahl of Indianapolis; 22 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Alexander; four sisters, Pearl Dunning, Leona Clements, Blanche Levell and Tida Petit; six brothers, Tom, Wallace, Norman, Orville, Ernie and Vernie Scroggins; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. EDT Sunday at the Union Grove Church, with burial in the Alexander Family Cemetery on Bell’s Ridge Road.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. EDT Saturday at the Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton; and after 1 p.m. EDT Sunday at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Shelbyville, Ky.
