Mr. and Mrs. T. Max Scroggin of Gulf Breeze, Fla. announce the engagement of their daughter, Samantha Kimberly Scroggin of Portsmouth, N.H., to Jeffrey Robert Meyer of South Royalton, Vt., son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Meyer of Albany, N.Y.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Willie M. Scroggin of Anniston and the late James M. Scroggin and of Sophie Smith of Pittsburgh, Pa. and the late Robert Smith. Miss Scroggin graduated from the University of New Hampshire in May 2003 with a master’s degree in English and her teaching certification. She received her undergraduate degree from UNH in 2001 and expects to begin teaching elementary school in Vermont this fall.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Arthur E. Pitts of Albany, N.Y. and the late Marion K. Pitts and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Meyer. Mr. Meyer graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. He is currently attending Vermont Law School in South Royalton and will graduate in May 2004 with a master’s degree in environmental law and a Juris Doctor degree.
