She was a resident of Ruston for the last seven years and six months. She was born in Yazoo County, Miss on Feb. 16, 1919 to the late Robert E. Waaser and Lula Mae Waaser.

    She graduated from Anding High School in 1936. She was a seamstress and retired inspector for E and W Manufacturing Plant in Yazoo City, Miss.

    She was preceded in death by husbands, Foy Scroggins, Sr. and E. B. Steen; her parents; sisters, Maria Woodruff and Freida Ziglar; brother, Robert E. Waaser, Jr.; and baby daughter, Priscilla Gail Scroggins.

    She is survived by son, Foy Scroggins, Jr. and special friend, Carolyn Ferguson of Ruston; daughter, Floyce Brown and husband Gary of Gautier, Miss.; sister, Inez Guthrie of Jackson, Miss.; sister-in-law, Vivian Waaser of Ridgeland, Miss.; eight grandchildren, Foy Scroggins, III of Meridian, Miss., Philip Roy Scroggins (Lori) of Shreveport, John Thomas Scroggins (Niki) of Ruston, Thomas Gary Brown of Gautier, Miss., Rena Kaye (Gene) Baker, Amanda (Phillip) Walker, Mary Eula (David) Torjusen, O.W. (Rusty) Brown III of Gautier, Miss.; 14 great grandchildren, Anna Scroggins, Kristian Scroggins, Zachary Scroggins, Tyler Scroggins, Liza Hill, Joshua Baker, Mit Cole, Drew Cole, Ashley Torjusen, Charlie Torjusen, O.W. Brown IV, Riley Brown, Anna Brown and Faith Brown.

    Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005 at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City, Miss. from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2005 at the funeral home with Rev. Jesse Henderson of Weston officiating assisted by Rev. Jerry Brosset of West Monroe. Interment will follow at Short Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Yazoo City, Miss.
    Grandsons, Foy Scroggins, III, Philip Roy Scroggins, John Thomas Scroggins, Thomas Gary Brown and O.W. Brown, III will serve as pallbearers.

    Special thanks are extended to Dr. Thomas Morris of Ruston, the staff at Longleaf Nursing Home in Ruston, and the staff at Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston for all the wonderful acts of kindness, consideration, care and comfort given to Ms. Nellie.
