  Myrtle Elkins Bidwell, 82, of Chattanooga died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2001, in a local hospital.
  
  A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, she was retired from Olan Mills after 26 years. She was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church.
  
  She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Bidwell; daughter, JoAnn Scroggins; grandson, Gary Scroggins.
  
  Survivors are her grandson, Chris Scroggins, Chattanooga; granddaughter, Charlotte Scroggins, East Ridge; brother, Rev. James Elkins; sister, Kathleen Rich, both of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.
  
  Service will be held noon Saturday at Maranantha Baptist Church with Rev. Don Dunn and Rev. Nathan Chandler officiating.
  
  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with James David Elkins, Jason Chandler, Mike Lee, Mark Mullins, Pete Mulnar and John Erwin serving as pallbearers.
