Lovie Eran Griffith Scroggins, 87, of Victoria, formerly of Edna, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003.
She was born March 24, 1915, in Inez, to the late Robert W. and Eva Lopez Griffith. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Edna. She was a Sunday school teacher and was on the Pastor Search Committee at the church. She was a past-member and past-president of the Women's Missionary Union.
Survivors: brother, J.R. "Sonny" Griffith of Victoria.
Preceded in death by: husband, Charlie Clay Scroggins; parents; sisters, Mervia G. Floyd and Alean Rushing; and brother, Melvin F. Griffith.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church of Edna, the Rev. Gary Covin officiating.
Burial will be at Memory Gardens of Edna. Slavik Funeral Home, Edna, 361-782-2152.
Pallbearers: Ike Peterson, Lee Phillips, Carlton Dorsey, Mike Milby, Joe McClanahan and Joe Bonnot.
Honorary pallbearers: Melba A. Talbott, Bobby M. Henry, Cindy Hawkins, Julie Morgan, Amy Priour, Samantha Nance, Erin Nance, Kaitlyn Morgan, Hailee Morgan and Chad Hawkins.
