  Sidney F. Jenkins, 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at his daughters home after battling cancer. Sidney was born December 12, 1934 the son of Orie T. and Florence I. Canchez Jenkins in Rusk, Texas. He joined the Navy in 1952 where he served in the Korean Conflict. After retirement he moved to Elephant Butte where he lived until health reasons moved him to Rio Rancho to live with family. Sidney is survived by his three children, Debbie Scroggin and husband Don of Rio Rancho, NM, Sid Jenkins, Jr. and wife Denise of Albuquerque, NM, and Kim Johnson and husband Robert of Austin, TX; Sid leaves a legacy through the love of his five grandchildren, Austin Jenkins of Rio Rancho, Tyler and Kaylan Jenkins of Albuquerque, Whitley and Dalton Scroggin of Rio Rancho. Services will be held on Friday, July 25, 2003 at Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the Service at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary. Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted, or in lieu of, memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 5201 Venice Av. NE, Suite A & B, Albuquerque, NM 87113 in Sidney's name.
