Sister Leola Watson Scroggins
MINDEN, LA - Leola Watson Scroggin was born in Minden, Louisiana on August 12, 1916 to the late Jerry Watson and Martha Watson.
Sister Scroggins accepted Christ at an early age, uniting with the Growing Valley Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana. She married the late Judge Mott Walker and to that union eight children were born. Three preceded her in death at birth. She later married the late Booker T. Scroggins and united with the Highland Park Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Sister Scroggins was a faithful member of the church serving in the choir and as a deaconess until her health failed. She worked in the Caddo Parish School System and the Fort Worth School System for numerous years.
She entered into rest on October 17, 2003 at approximately 11:45 a.m. at the Schumpert Meedical Center.
She leaves to cherish her memory: four daughters, Lorene Hill (Jerry), Martha Poucy, Verna Brown (Mundy) and Rosie Walker, all of Shreveport, Louisiana and one son, Leon Duty (Shirley) of Minden, Louisiana and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to Schumpert Medical Center and Dr. James Mays.
