    Joyce J. Lucynski, 75, of 873 Fond du Lac Ave., Sheboygan Falls, died Friday morning, May 28, 2004, with her family at her side at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

    Joyce was born on March 4, 1929, in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late John and Alma (Krueger) Hametner. Joyce graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1947 and the Sheboygan County Normal School in 1949.

    On June 25, 1929, Joyce married John A. Lucynski at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Sheboygan. She taught school for one year and then worked at Park and Shop in Sheboygan as a cashier for 12 years.

    Joyce is a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls and was a St. Vincent de Paul volunteer. Joyce’s grandchildren were the joys of her life. She also enjoyed playing cards and games, and having lunch and spending time with her seven classmates from high school.

    Joyce is survived by her husband, John; one daughter, Cheryl (Mike) Tank of Sheboygan Falls; one son, Col. John A. (Beate) Lucynski II of Fort Leavensworth, Kan.; one son-in-law, Dennis Scroggins of Sheboygan Falls; seven grandchildren, Travis (Vicki) Tank, Jocelyn (Josh) Sulsberger, Stacy (friend, David Grusznski) Scroggins, Dustin Scroggins, John A. Lucynski III, Christopher and Steven Lucynski; two brothers, John (Helen) Hametner of Muskego, and Larry (Donna) Hametner of Sheboygan Falls; and one sister-in-law, Lou Hametner of San Antonio, Texas. Joyce is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a beloved daughter, Nanette Scroggins; one brother, Eugene Hametner; and one brother-in-law, Robert Lucynski.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls on Tuesday, June 1 at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Eugene Neuman officiating. Burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery.

    Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of Mass at 6 p.m.

    A memorial fund is being established in her memory for the American Cancer Society.

    The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Max Haid and the staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic.

    The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls is serving the family.
