EVA SCROGGINS
Eva Bevans Scroggins, 91, a resident of Elmhaven East Nursing Home, Parsons,
died Thursday morning (July 13, 2000) at Elmhaven.
Mrs. Scroggins was born Sept. 29, 1908, at Wister, Okla., to George and
Lillie (Neathry) Tiffee. She grew up in Gowen, Okla., and married John
Bevans on June 14, 1928, at Gowen. The couple moved to Labette City in
1942, and lived there until Mr. Bevans’ death on May 15, 1956.
Mrs. Scroggins lived for several years in Oswego. She married Wilton Scroggins
on Sept. 7, 1968, at Baytown, Texas. She lived in Baytown for several years.
Mr. Scroggins preceded his wife in death Sept. 12, 1979.
She lived in Coffeyville from 1985 until 1992, and then moved to Parsons.
Mrs. Scroggins was a member of River of Life Tabernacle, Coffeyville.
Survivors include four sons, John Bevans, Jr., of Ventura, Calif., W.O.
‘Wimp’ Bevans of South Mound, Richard Bevans of Milton, Fla., and Larry
Bevans of Leggett, Texas; four daughters, Lillian Wilkins of Mountain View,
Mo., Shirley Martin of Disney, Okla., Dovie Doyle of Parsons, and Margaret
Bevans of Baytown, Texas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and
several great-great grandchildren.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday, at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial is
at Labette City Cemetery.
