Clyde Scroggins, 91, of Mount Holly, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2004, in Columbia County.
Born Feb. 16, 1913, in Union County, he was the son of Joe Carroll and Cora Faye (Haltom) Scroggins. He was a self-employed farmer and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Floye Scroggins of Mount Holly; two sons, Larry J. Scroggins and his wife, Pamela, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Garry C. Scroggins and his wife, Karen, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Kathryn Miller and her husband, Charles, of Stephens; two sisters, Mavaleen Moore of Sarepta, La., and Margaret Wilson of Clovis, N.M.; two grandsons, Andy Miller and his wife, Donna, of Stephens, and Jeff N. Scroggins and his wife, Tara, of Plano, Texas; six granddaughters, Sheila Evans and her husband, Chris, Toni Buchanan and her husband, Billy Ray, Kristi Carter and her husband, Duncan, all of Stephens, Lori Sneeden and her husband, Larry, of Jacksonville, Fla., Angel Puffer and her husband, Clint, of Muskegon, Mich., and Amber Cowan of Waco, Te x as; and 12 great-grandchildren, Braydon Dodson, Madison Miller, Deborah Ellis, Dusty Evans, Brittany Buchanan, Buck Buchanan, Gage Carter, Gannon Carter, Justin Lee, Lauren Alderman, Rachel Alderman and Alexis J. Puffer.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Bennie Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., of Magnolia.
Pallbearers will be Scott Miller, Kevin Miller, Terry Miller, Richard Williamson, Jeff Beavers, Johnny Dixon, Johnny Bailey and Dossie Dews.
