    DECATUR - Margaret R. Scroggins, 87, of Decatur, passed away 3:40 pm Saturday, May 2, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital. Services to celebrate Margaret's life will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Offerman officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 – 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment with the "Flight Home" Ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choice. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting her family with these arrangements. Online condolences and memories may be shared with Margaret's family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com. Margaret was born April 11, 1922 in Decatur, daughter of William and Emma (Schimanski) Luka. She married Melvin T. Scroggins in Decatur on February 14, 1954. She worked in the laundry at Decatur Memorial Hospital and later was employed by Model Paris Laundry from where she retired in the mid 1970's. Maggie enjoyed watching television and especially QVC. She is survived by her siblings: Robert Luka of Long Creek, Betty Wall of Decatur, John (Marianne) of Springfield, Mary Pruss of Wenatchee, WA, Alma Bailey of Rushville, IL, Paul Luka of Thomasville, GA, Fred (Margo) Luka of Stilesville, IN, Raymond (Pat) Luka of Blue Mound, and Helen Entler of Decatur, and several nieces and nephews. Maggie was reunited in heaven with her husband, parents, two brothers Walter and William Luka and two sisters Esther Atwell and Hilda Sheets. Maggie's family would like to express thanks to Dr. Newlin and staff, McKinnley Court Care Centre, nurses on fourth and fifth floors at St. Mary's Hospital, and a "Special Thanks" to nieces Ruth Race and Susan Acklin for their loving care for Aunt Maggie.
