ANNISTON — Funeral services for Mr. William A. Scroggins, Sr., age 95, of Anniston, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2007 at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel with The Reverend Robert Hurst officiating and interment following at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mr. Scroggins died April 11, 2007 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.
A native of Coosa County, Mr. Scroggins was a member of Carpenter United Methodist Church, a past member of the International Association of Machinists, and a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He had retired as a machinist from Anniston Foundry-Mead Corporation.
Mr. Scroggins is survived by his wife, Neva Miller Scroggins, of Anniston; a daughter, Sandra Cox and her husband, Jerry Cox, of Choccolocco; a son, Bill Scroggins, Jr. and his wife, Deborah West Scroggins, of Anniston; five grandchildren, Blake Cox II, of Atlanta, Blaine Cox and his wife, Rebecca Cox, of Auburn, Alex Scroggins, of Anniston, Andy Scroggins ,of Anniston, and Austin Scroggins, of Anniston; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Scroggins' grandsons and Kenny Bunn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Carpenter United Methodist Church, 104 East F Street, Anniston, AL 36201.
