    SCROGGINS, CHELLIE MAE HEGLER, age 77, departed this life on April 8, 2009. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Max L. Scroggins; son, Mike Scroggins; and her daughter, Barbara Scroggins Partridge. She had seven grandchildren: Cindy LeZotte, Chad Scroggins, Shepard Partridge, Andrea Dapkus, Erin Cain, Lindsey Petras and Lauren Deibert. She was blessed with eleven great-grandchildren. Chellie was also survived by her two brothers, John Henry Hegler and Willie Edward Hegler. Chellie was born in Josie, Alabama, on May 26, 1931, and spent her youth helping her family to farm. She had loving parents with whom she enjoyed a deep and close relationship. In 1948, she moved with her husband to Bessemer, AL and became a loving mother to her two children. Later, she was trained as a beautician, which afforded her the opportunity to offer her gifts of listening and compassion with many friends. She was a beauty and gave beauty to others and to the world around her with her talents in gardening, cooking, needlework, stained glass and mosaics. She loved animals, children and flowers. She was gentle, faithful and witty. Visitation will be Monday, April 13, from 12:30 - 2:00 PM at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Hueytown, AL. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Rick Patrick officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, we kindly request that any memorial you wish to make be given to missions in Nicaragua, where Chellie's granddaughter and her husband are serving.
