    Jean Scroggin [49662:K], age 82, of Prestwood Drive, Lenoir, died Tuesday, December 1l, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care -Lenoir. She was born February 2, 1930 in Fulton County, Georgia to the late Thomas J. and Belle Blalock Carlisle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Newman.

    Mrs. Scroggin was a loving wife and mother.She was a retired secretary and a member of St. James Episcopal Church.

    Survivors include her husband, Dr. John B. Scroggin of the home; three sons, John B. Scroggin, Jr. of Philippines, Bruce Thomas Scroggin and wife Juanita of Amite, Louisiana and Michael David Scroggin and wife Jennifer of Talbott, Tennessee; one daughter, Nancy Scroggin Boelter of Flemington, New Jersey; one brother, James Carlisle and wife Lorraine of Dallas, Georgia; one sister,Betty Smith of Douglas, Georgia; and five grandchildren, Zachary and Nicholas Scroggin, both of Talbott, Tennessee, Rachel Boelter of Boston, Evan Bolter and Sean Bolter of Flemington.

    Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church conducted by Father Michael Cogsdale and Rev. Melissa Eggers.

    The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

    Honorary attendees will be Barbara Clawson, Judi Greer, Marlyn Boughman, Pamela Frye and Martin Benfield.
