    Dora Maxine Scroggins

    Funeral service for Dora Maxine Scroggins, 85, of Alexander City, will be Monday, November 5, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Harris and Rev. Larry Armstrong will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 5, 2012 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Radney Funeral Home.

    Mrs. Scroggins passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on August 13, 1927 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama to Orlander Pearson Ray and Mary Susie King Ray. She was a member of Comer Memorial Baptist Church in Alexander City.

    Mrs. Scroggins was a loving lady who enjoyed spending time with family, going to church, and working in her kitchen and in flower garden. Mrs. Scroggins was a caring person who was always available for friends and family.

    Mrs. Scroggins worked at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery as receptionist in x-ray department, and also was one of the first employees of First National Bank in Alex City, Al. Mrs. Scroggins also worked at Eastern Hills Baptist Church in charge of the Wednesday night fellowship dinner.

    She is survived by her son, Bobby Ray Scroggins (Linda), of Jacksons Gap, AL; brothers, Edward Ray and Charles Ray; sister, Mary Helen Cleary; grandsons, Mathew Scroggins (Christy) of Navarre, FL and Bryan Scroggins (Denise) of Chelsea, AL; great-grandson, Rylan Scroggins; great-granddaughters, Alexie Scroggins, Ava Scroggins and Kate Scroggins.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Lee Scroggins [50659:M, Obit]; parents; son, Thomas Lee Scroggins; brother, Willie Frank Ray; sister, Ruth Arnold.
