This is Jerry's daughter, Anna, updating for him. As I was looking I saw that he hasn't updated in nearly 2 weeks, so I'm sure most of you know he must not have been feeling very well. Usually all technological devices are attached to his hands. :)
Dad passed away tonight at 8:30pm surrounded by many great family members and friends. It has been a rough couple of weeks, and he had been getting weaker and weaker. Last night he was barely able to get up the stairs to bed, and so my mom requested a hospital bed today for downstairs. He apparently did not want to rest there for very long. :) Mom, Zach, and I were all by his side when he passed. Some people had left shortly before then, and mom joked that he left along with the party.
I know that this site got him through on many a tough day. He would always look to see how many people had checked the site since he posted last. Dad would often read those wonderful, encouraging posts out-loud to the whole family.
Of course it is difficult, but we will make it through. He is where he has wanted to be, with God - no more pain and no more cancer.

Thank you for all of your wonderful, warm thoughts. I wanted to update about the services.
We made arrangements with Paynic Funeral Home in Rosewood Heights, Illinois. The visitation will be on Sunday, February, 13th from 4 until 7 pm. His funeral will be on Monday, February 14th at 10 am at Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton, Illinois. Graveside services will be immediately followed at Roselawn Cemetary in Bethalto, Illinois at their main building.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Main Street UMC or the Community Hope Center in Bethalto, Illinois.
