    Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 15, 1994, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lexington.

    Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Aug. 16, 1994, in the Long Creek Cemetery near John Day.

    Mr. Scroggins was born Aug. 14, 1935, in Pendleton. He died Aug. 10, 1994, in Heppner. He was 58.

    A graduate of Columbia High School in White Salmon, Wash., he was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Scroggins married Darlene Smith on June 9, 1956.

    The couple lived in Portland, where Mr. Scroggins worked in construction. In 1988, he moved to Heppner to operate a construction company. He was a member of the Morrow County Rodeo Committee.

    Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons, Larry M. of Heppner and Jesse, William and Lloyd, all of Portland; brother, Conrad ''Bill'' of Portland; and one granddaughter.

    Remembrances: Airlife of Oregon, 2500 Neff Road, Bend 97701; or a charity of choice.

    Arrangements: Sweeney Mortuary in Heppner.
