    Bonham -- Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Virginia Scroggins McFarlin, age 85, of Bonham, will be held at 12:00 P.M. noon, Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Arledge Ridge Cemetery, under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, Bonham, Texas. Jerry Brown will officiate. Mrs. McFarlin passed away on January 28, 2009 at the Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.

    Mrs. McFarlin was born on December 24, 1923 in Mead, Oklahoma, the daughter of Benjamin Robert Scroggins and Mae Horton Scroggins. She moved to Bonham in 1928 and attended schools in Ector and Edhube. She married Clyde Lee McFarlin on December 21, 1941 in Bonham and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2007. She worked for Safeway Grocery Store and Sears then attended Beauty School in Sherman and owned Stylett Beauty Shop for over 45 years. She was saved in 1954 while attending Trinity Baptist Church and later became a member of the Fannin Bible Baptist Church. She loved to play softball and bowling was another of her hobbies.

    She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Dixon of Mesquite and several nieces and nephews

    The family will receive friends at Wise Funeral Home from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, Jan. 30, 2009.
