   Willard 'Bill' Brents
   
   BLYTHEVILLE -- Willard Edward "Bill" Brents, 80, of Blytheville died Friday, July 29, at his residence.
   
   Born at Dell, he was an area resident for more than 50 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion for 55 years and attended Calvary Baptist Church of Blytheville.
   
   Survivors include his wife, Ida Lucille Wooldrige Brents of the home; one son, Michael Brents of Blytheville; one daughter, Ann Andrews of Blytheville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
   
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe D. and Donna Lucille Scott Brents; one daughter, Brenda Kay Brents; two brothers; and two sisters.
   
   Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Cobb Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dave Stout officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery with military honors.
   
   Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
   
   Debbie Jones Dawson
   
   OSCEOLA -- Debbie Jones Dawson, 56, of Osceola died Saturday, July 30, at SMC Regional Medical Center in Osceola. Born at Osceola, she was a lifelong area resident and of the Baptist faith.
   
   Survivors include her mother, Maple Dees Jones of Osceola; one son, Dewayne Dawson of Blytheville; one daughter, Laura Dawson of Tampa, Fla.; one brother, David Jones of Drummonds, Tenn.; three sisters, Linda Holland and Nancy Golde, both of Osceola, and Pam Johnson of Satartia, Miss.; and two grandsons, Zachary Tyler Dawson and Austin Sterling Dawson.
   
   She was preceded in death by her father, David Jones.
   
   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Roller-Swift Funeral Home chapel in Osceola with burial in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens at Osceola.
   
   Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
   
   Joe D. Hart Fleemon
   
   WALNUT RIDGE -- Joe D. Hart Fleemon, 66, of Walnut Ridge died Saturday, July 30, at Batesville Health Care Center.

   Uneta Frances Henderson
   
   BROOKLAND -- Uneta Frances Henderson, 81, of Brookland died Friday, July 29, at the family residence.
   
   Born in Mantachie, Miss., she formerly lived at Trumann and had lived at Brookland for the past 17 years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God of Trumann.
   
   Survivors include her husband, Sherman Edward Henderson of the home; two daughters, Darenthy Henderson of Jonesboro and Darene Pungercar of Knoxville, Tenn.; one son, Larry E. Henderson of Trumann; four sisters, Charlie Mae Leathers and Verlene Leathers, both of Fulton, Miss., Jessie Fay Stafford of Belden, Miss., and Thelma Jean Nevins of Collierville, Tenn.; five granddaughters; and six great-grandchildren.
   
   Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann with the Rev. Kenneth Doke and the Rev. Danny Horton officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park.
   
   Active pallbearers will be Ben Barker, Kenny Horton, Tim Horton, Lloyd Inzer, Carmack Johnson and Bob Kieninger.
   
   Honorary pallbearers will be Delton Hillis, Craig Horton, Don Leathers and Ricky Leathers.
   
   Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

   Frederick William Johns
   
   HARDY -- Frederick William Johns, 76, of Hardy died Thursday, July 28, at his residence.
   
   Born at Kalkaskia, Mich., he was a Sears serviceman.
   
   Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Johns of Hardy; two sons, Bill Johns and Michael Johns, both of Hardy; four grandchildren, Ben Johns, Billy "Turk" Johns and Brittany Jennings, all of Hardy, and Seth Johns of Little Rock; and two great-grandchildren.
   
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl Frederick and Jenny Johns; one daughter; and one brother.
   
   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Heath Oak Hill Chapel with Keith Gregson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
   
   Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
   
   Active pallbearers will be Jackie Booth, Tim Davidson, Bob Johnson, Junior Wiles, Jim Recoccet and Jim Hunt.

   Roy Glen McCollum
   
   CABOT -- Roy Glen McCollum, 76, of Cabot, formerly of Jonesboro, died Friday, July 29.
   
   He was born at Violet Hill.
   
   Survivors include his wife, Dorothy McCollum; two sons, Larry McCollum and Dewayne McCollum, both of Jonesboro; one daughter, Pat Taylor of Cabot; one sister, Bunice Bookout of Wiseman; six grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
   
   A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. today at Morriston Cemetery in Morriston under the direction of Thomas Funeral Service of Cabot.
   
   Michael Shane Miller
   
   PARAGOULD -- Michael Shane Miller, 35, of Conway died Saturday, July 30, at his parents' home at Paragould.
   
   Born at Paragould, he was a superintendent of I.H. Corp. of Conway and was of the Baptist faith.
   
   Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Ginger and Tim Birmingham of Paragould; one brother, Kyle Birmingham of Paragould; and one sister, Erica Nelson of Jonesboro.
   
   He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Joe Miller; and his grandparents, Ruby and Willard Miller and Geneva and Joe Adams.
   
   Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Mitchell Funeral Home chapel at Paragould with Bill Adams officiating. Burial will be in Coffman Cemetery.
   
   Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
   
   Mary Alice Newberry
   
   MEMPHIS -- Mary Alice Walker Newberry, 54, of Memphis, formerly of Pine Bluff, died Friday, July 29 at her residence.
   
   Born at Camden, she graduated from Smackover High School in 1968, and attended Arkansas State University. She moved to Pine Bluff in 1972, where she was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and served as a Sunday school teacher, Episcopal Young Churchmen leader, choir member, vestryman and senior warden.
   
   She was Jefferson County's first elected county tax collector and was a founding member of the Arkansas Collector's Association, serving as secretary, vice president and president for that organization. Also a member of the Pine Bluff Civitan Club, she served in several offices including president and was active in that club's sponsorship of the Jefferson County Special Olympics.
   
   She also served on the boards of Jefferson County Habitat for Humanity and Pine Bluff-Jefferson County United Way. She served on the Jefferson County Democratic Central Committee and was National Committeewoman for the Arkansas Democratic Party. She attended both the 1992 and 1996 Democratic National Conventions. Mary was also an Arkansas Traveler for President Bill Clinton.
   
   In December, 1996, Mary retired as Jefferson County Tax Collector and moved to Memphis. She joined Calvary Episcopal Church and was active in the pastoral care ministries and a member of Calvary Choir.
   
   Survivors include her husband, Jim Newberry of Memphis; a son, Will Newberry of Jonesboro; a brother, James Russell Benson, Jr. of Oklahoma City; and three sisters, Mattie Seward of Searcy, Judith Benson of Memphis and Jeanne Farris of Sherwood.
   
   She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sarah Kathryn Newberry, her parents James Russell and Aileen Walker Benson, and a sister.
   
   Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Calvary Episcopal Church in Memphis.
   
   Visitation will be after the service at the church.
   
   An additional service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Episcopal Church in Pine Bluff, with the Rev. Dr. Cheryl L. Clark officiating. The family will greet friends after the service at the church.
   
   Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Whitefield Cemetery near Stephens. Charles E. Fuller Funeral Services of Pine Bluff is in charge of arrangements.
   
   Memorials may be made to Calvary Episcopal Church, Memphis; Grace Episcopal Church Building Fund, Pine Bluff; Habitat for Humanity; or Special Olympics.
   
   Mary Frances Olson
   
   TRUMANN -- Mary Francis Olson, 58, of Trumann died Friday, July 29, in the NEA Medical Center.
   
   Born at Beech Grove, she had lived at Trumann since 1989. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
   
   Survivors include her husband, David Dwight Olson of the home; two sons, Billy Don Cook of Black Oak and Timmy Warner of Indiana; three sisters, Bonnie Williams of Mountain View and Alma Chapman and Betty Barnes, both of Elkhart, Ind.; one brother, Elbert Cook of Harrisburg; and two grandsons.
   
   She was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas and Louise Lee Church Cook; and two brothers.
   
   Funeral services will be private under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.
   
   Millis Edwin Price
   
   EARLE -- Millis Edwin Price, 61, of Earle died Saturday, July 30, at his home.
   
   Born at Mountain View, he was a truck driver.
   
   Survivors include his wife, Glenda Gayle Price of Earle; a son, Millis Allen Price of Earl; a sister, Betty Dishaw of Alaska; and four grandchildren.
   
   The body will be cremated.
   
   Laverne Priest
   
   LOWELL -- Violet Laverne Priest, 77, of Lowell died Thursday, July 28, at Northwest Medical Center of Springdale.
   
   Born at Cash, she was a homemaker and a charter member of Springdale Missionary Baptist Church.
   
   Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Priest of the home; one daughter, Ellen Killebrew of Maumelle; four sons, Dexter Priest of Lincoln, Lester Priest of Lowell, Mark Priest of Springdale and Timothy Priest of Rogers; one brother, Otto Hillis of Jonesboro; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
   
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Virgie Nelson Hillis; one son, David Lynn Priest; twin infant daughters; and 19 brothers and sisters.
   
   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Springdale Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Wisely officiating. Burial will be at Bluff Cemetery.
   
   Active pallbearers will be Lonnie McClure, Mark Hogan, Brian Killebrew, Mitchell Priest, Michael Priest and Gary Priest.
   
   Honorary pallbearers will include Wayne Raines, Calvin Raines, Floyd Hillis, Gary Echols, Shelby Hillis, Barry Priest, Clifford Hillis and Lester McClure.

   John Emerson Robertson
   
   JONESBORO -- John Emerson Robertson, 73, of Jonesboro died Thursday, July 28, at St. Bernard's Medical Center.
   
   Born at Qulin, Mo., he moved to Jonesboro three years ago from Effingham, Ill. He was an Army veteran and a retired painter. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Effingham.
   
   Survivors include his wife, Patricia Robertson of the home; two sons, John-David Robertson and Danny Robertson, both of St. Louis; two daughters, Mikki Robertson of Dallas and Suzy Wyatt of Jonesboro; one brother, Richard Robertson of Florissant, Mo.; one sister, Norma Goins of Broseley, Mo., seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
   
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Nellie Robertson; one son; and one brother.
   
   Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the White-Sanders Funeral Home chapel at Fisk, Mo., with the Rev. Larry Ward officiating. Burial will be in Qulin Cemetery at Qulin, Mo.

   Jessie 'Tucker' Scroggins
   
   BLYTHEVILLE -- Jessie "Tucker" Scroggins, 69, of Blytheville died Friday, July 29, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.
   
   Born at Mountain View, he was a longtime area resident, a farm laborer and of the Baptist faith.
   
   Survivors include his wife, Margaret Johnson Scroggins of the home; seven sons, Johnny Mack Scroggins Sr., and David Wright, both of Jonesboro, James Wright of Blytheville, Ricky Wright of Section, Ala., Roger Wright of Steele, Mo., Tracy Wright of California, Mo., and the Rev. Chris Wright of Taipei, Taiwan; three daughters, Patsy Williams of Pine Bluff and Melissa Scroggins and Lisa Williams, both of Jonesboro; two brothers, Bill Scroggins of Illinois and Jimmy Dale Scroggins of Gosnell; one sister, Charlene Cleveland of Judsonia; 29 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
   
   He was preceded in death by his parents, Clete and Willie Kirkland Scroggins; one son; one brother; and three sisters.
   
   Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Cobb Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mike Welch officiating. Burial will be in Sandy Ridge Cemetery at Burdette.
