Sunday Gazetteer, Sunday, December 29, 1895

The following complimentary notice of a happy event in which Gazetteer readers may take an interest appeared in the evening Herald of last Monday.

Miss Cory Murray, daughter of Editor B. C. Murray, and Troy McMillin, son of J. W. McMillin, were quietly married at the bride's home, corner of Rusk Ave. and Morgan Street, last night at 8 o'clock. None but relatives of the bride and groom were present. Justice W. S. Pearson, who had been associated with Mr. Murray in the Gazetteer, and who is an intimate friend of the family, performed the ceremony in a simple, yet impressive manner. At the conclusion of the legal ceremony, the groom handed Mr. Pearson a plain gold ring, which he returned to him, at the same time speaking a few words appropriate to the occasion. The golden symbol of eternal union was then placed upon the bride's finger and congratulations followed. The bridal couple were attended by A. A. Thomas and Miss Helen Murray, sister of the bride. The guest immediately repaired to the dining room where refreshments were served. Miss Murray is one of Denison's most lovable daughters. She was born and educated in the city, and being endowed with traits that characterize noble womanhood, she cannot tail to make happy the man who chose so wisely. Mr. McMillin is a young man on the most exemplary character, being the son of one of Denison's honorable families. He is at present in the train service of the M. K. & T. Mr. and Mrs. McMillin left this afternoon for Kansas City, where they will visit the groom's family for a week and return to Denison after the first of the year.
