Whole number of deaths returned from all sources for the year; Males, 56;
Females, 65; Total, 121. This shows a falling off in the death rate, and
especially so among the children less than one year old. The mortality among
this class has decreased from the year preceding, one quarter, or twenty-five
per cent; while among the adults, the decrease is not so great. A goodly number
are returned having attained a ripe old age, and three are registered as having
reached the age of ninety years and upwards; the oldest person reported being
John Eagan, who is returned as having seen ninety-seven years.
