McCaffrey
The spot for the erection of the gallows on which John McCaffrey will be executed next Thursday has been chosen by Mr. Sheriff Allen, and the ceremonies as we have before stated will be performed publicly. The military will be out on that day to prevent disturbance. The criminal now spends most of his time on his knees in prayer or in other religious services. The law though a barbarous one, is still the law, and must be executed.
