Violence and Death of Mary Niland of Kenosha, Wisconsin

Violence and Death

On Monday morning last expired the wife of Peter Niland. She disclosed to her friends before she died that she had received cruel treatment and violence from her Husband. A post mortem examination disclosed the fact that she died of inflamation of some internal organs. The husband put out, we believe, before she died. He was arrested however on Monday at Racine, and was brought back to this place for examination, which is going on at the time of our writing. Intemperance was the cause.

PS. We learn that the accused has been held to bail in the sum of $500 to appear and answer at the time of the next term of the Court.
