3rd great-grandparents John Adam HINSEY 1783 Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to Montgomery County, Ohio to 1866 Wabash County, Indiana and Mariah BURKHOLDER 1792 Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to Montgomery County, Ohio to 1869 Wabash County, Indiana. Both are buried in the Cripe Cemetery Pleasant Township. Son Jacob was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in 1816. Was in 1840 Hamilton County, Ohio and may have been in Darke County, Ohio.
4th great-grandparents were John Henry HINSEY 1730 left Hamburg, Germany by way of Cowes, England arrived on the ship Leathley September 19, 1753 in Philadelphia to after 1794 Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware and Elizabeth POST of New Castle County, Delaware. He served in the Revolutionary War in Delaware with his son John Henry HINSEY jr. from Ancestry.com. DAR confirms John Hinsey as Private in Capt. Isaac Grantham Militia as A055425.
