| On April 14, 1910 they had a son and named him Rosario, after Salvatore's father (it was traditional then to name the first son after the father's father and the second son after the mother's father; the first daughter would be named after the father's mother and the second daughter after the mother's mother). He was baptized on April 23, 1910. Their young son would get real excited and run to Salvatore with open arms, when his father came home from work. They dearly loved him. Tragically, little Rosario died of pneumonia at age three. They were both heart broken. Shortly after Rosario's untimely death, Salvatore had a dream that he should move away from that apartment. They were afraid, so they moved.1 |
