Cliff and Iva met when Cliff was working with Iva's father at Oberdorfer Industires, Iva wanted to learn how to drive a car and her dad asked Cliff to give her a few lessons. Cliff had her drive into the city (Syracuse) on their first lesson and had her pull into a parking space on the street. Iva mistook the clutch for the brake and coasted into a parking meter, which she knocked over. They got out of there Quick, and he asked her for a date. The rest is history.¹
