Dear Reverend Sir
I must apologise for trespassing upon your time in
a matter of this kind.
My wife was born in your immediate vicinity, and
is entitled to claim for the old-age pension. I need some authentic
information regarding the date of her birth to fill up the form, of
which she is rather uncertain.
Her mother (Ann Dawes) lived in the vicinity of
St Michaels' nearly all her lifetime, and was interred in the
Churchyard in the family vault in 1915.
Have you any record in the Church regarding her
baptism about 1861-2-3? She believes she was born on October 5th,
1861, but is not sure.
If I knew the Registrar for the District I might
have applied to him for a birth certificate, but don't know either his
name or address. She has an idea that she was born in the
neighbourhood of 'The Delph'.
Again apologising for trespassing on your
valuable time.
Yours respectfully
